H.R. College of Commerce & Economics (1982 – 2016)
With an M.Phil in Economics, a Masters in Economics (Agricultural Economics and Industrial Economics), a Diploma in Higher Education and an IB Training in Economics, Ms Shamira Abdulla has had over 33 years of teaching experience at H.R. College of Commerce & Economics. She was the Director of International Programmes at H.R. College of Commerce and Economics and a Senior Lecturer, Department of Economics.

During her tenure at H.R. College Ms Abdulla held several positions from being the Supervisor of the Junior College, the Incharge of Junior College and the Director of International Programmes.

Over the years she has set up the Wall Board Magazine, the Co Curricular Club, Young Minds (Students Council for Junior College) and the International Programmes Committee (IPC) the student faction of the International Programmes Office that she headed.

Ms Abdulla was the co-coordinator of the Educational Leadership Programme (EDLE) held for Principals, Vice Principals, Administrators and Senior Faculty – an initiative conducted by the HSNC Board. The Hyderabad Sindh National Collegiate Board (HSNC Board) is the parent body that owns H.R. College. She was also part of the Committee for the Study India Programme that the HSNC Board initiated in 2001 under which 24 faculty from the University System of West Georgia, USA came to Mumbai to understand the mind set of Indian Students and learn more about India. It is this platform that led her to work with international initiatives and head the initiatives at H.R. College as Director, International Programmes.
